DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i.To Drive LATRA’s vehicles to approved destinations and in accordance with traffic regulations;

ii.To be responsible for safe-keeping of the vehicle and tools entrusted on him/her;

iii.To maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and tools;

iv.To report promptly any defect or problems detected in the vehicle;

v.To perform messengerial duties such as dispatching documents/letters and collecting mails, 

vi.To carry out diagnoses of minor problems requiring immediate repair.

vii.  To perform other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Holder of Secondary School Education Certificate/Advanced Secondary School Education Certificate with valid Driving License Class C or E and Basic Driving Course plus driving experience of at least one (1) year without causing accidents. Possession of Trade Test Grade II/Level II in Motor Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanics is an added advantage.

Daqing Oilfield Construction Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter as DOCG), as a CONTRACTOR for Storage Terminal of EACOP Project, invites experienced and reputable candidates to apply for the positions of COMMUNITY LIASON OFFICER (2) two positions which will be at Tanga region in the Chongoleani ward. All Tanzanians with the following qualifications and who are ready to work on the storage Terminal Project (MST) at Chongoleani should apply.

1.0      Position – Community Liaison Officer (2 Post)

1.1  Qualification:-

·         Bachelor  degree  in    Social    Science,     Sociology, environmental science or other relevant discipline.

·         At least 5 years of professional experience conducting stakeholder engagement in rural communities.

·         At least 3 years of construction related experience preferred.

·         Experience in conducting engagement activities with authorities including associated protocols.

·         High level of interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain good relations with a wide range with stakeholders including a high level of discretion, Diplomacy and ability to Manage conflict and gain consensus, required.

·         High degree of organization and ability to organize team task and objectives essential.

·         Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English and Swahili.

1.2  Responsibilities:-

·         Develop understanding of District, Ward, Village and Hamlet level stakeholder and how they may be affected by DOCG activities.

·         Develop understanding of DOCG construction activities, all DOCG work locations (direct and indirect) and the type of community engagement required, keep community informed of DOCG activities.

·         Implement DOCG stakeholder engagement work plan

·         Interface with DOCG Site representative and EACOP CLO on construction activities.

·         Keep DOCG updated on community issues feed and highlight potential community related risk to DOCG for action.

·         Record and report community questions and project related concerns and participate in preparing and providing timely responses.

·         Implement EACOP Project Grievance Mechanism.

·         Coordinate with the EACOP in resolve grievance related to DOCG activities.

·         Maintain detailed records all stakeholder engagement supporting information including minutes of meetings, Attendance Registers, Photo and written records and maintain database hard/Soft copy for sharing with EACOP.

·         Maintaining register of and record all stakeholder concerns, issues and any other stakeholder feedback relating to DOCG construction activities for action with DOCG Social Manager.

·         Produce daily, weekly and monthly construction stakeholder engagement in puts reports as required.

·         Support DOCG construction activities and engagement activities as needed by DOCG Social Manager and DOCG Construction Manager.

1.3  Duration

The Contract shall be for a specific task (Construction period)

He/she will be working 26 (twenty six) days consecutive and 4 (four) days off

Chongoleani ward in Tanga region.

Job Responsibilities

• Complete and proper execute of repair orders in accordance with manufacturer and MAG guidelines and terms

• Follow safety procedures at all times to avoid accidental injuries and damage to automobiles
• Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition including any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor
• Maintain workshop repair disassembled parts in a professional way and Ensure the cleanliness of signed workplace and bay
• Performs tune ups, brake jobs, and other preventative maintenance on cars, trucks, buses, and other powered rolling equipment; replaces common parts and makes adjustments
• Replace, or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories
• Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles

Education

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 2-4 years experience as a mechanic

• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
• Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
• Excellent physical condition
• Good oral and written communications skills in English
• Valid driver’s license is a must
